We strive to create or bolster initiatives that keep Tennessee amateurs and clubs active. From Simplex Saturdays to monthly challenges and events like Winlink Wednesday, we want to be the association that keeps you and your club active and on the air!
Statewide data communications initiative that allows amateurs to send more than just a testing email to their personal email accounts. With objectives that change weekly and vary from easy to challenging, this initiative not only boosts activity on the gateways and in the airwaves but also offers everyone an opportunity to test and share information across the state. While RF is highly encouraged, we will also accept Telnet messages.
Each month, the association hosts a challenge to keep amateurs engaged and exploring different types of modes and bands. Our past challenges have included learning new modes and utilizing bands that users might not typically experiment with. From 2M and 440 to HF RTTY, we strive to introduce something fresh and exciting every month!
At the Association, we embrace emerging technologies alongside the evolving tools of the past. We are committed to creating both online and offline options for our members. Currently, we have developed platforms such as TNET, a net logging system, and TARA Connect, an application set to launch soon on both Android and iOS.
Since 2025, the association has hosted a hub for coordinating amateur simplex communications. Established by a former member of the association, Simplex Saturday facilitated nearly 1,500 contacts across the state and in surrounding states like Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, and Kentucky.
