The Tennessee Amateur Radio Association (TARA) is a statewide organization dedicated to enriching and supporting the amateur radio community in the Volunteer State. Established in 2024 by W3FDE, TARA has expanded to include more than 230 members and 16 affiliate clubs. The association is committed to its mission of "Leaving Amateur Radio Better Than We Found It."
Joining TARA is easy! Click the "Get Involved" tab at the top of the page, and you'll be redirected to our secure nonprofit membership management platform. We have our individual and family memberships, as well as our affiliate club memberships, to choose from.
We organize a variety of activities including training sessions, community service events, testing, and public demonstrations, as well as the integration of our new Connect application, all designed to promote the spirit and skills of amateur radio right here in the Volunteer State.
While some events may require a ham radio license, many of our activities are open to everyone! We also offer resources to help you prepare for your amateur radio exam.
